How to work with different entities ideas projects task meetings
- Separate tasks, projects, todos, ideas and thoughts. Each entity requires a different mindset. You can’t be effective in idea-generating when all you see is the staggering amount of work from your to-do list or you get distracted by part of the project that screams for your attention.
- The same approach must be applied to the process of managing notes and making multitool from the knowledge base. Working with ideas is a highly fragile process.
- The project list is for thinking. It’s a tool of rationality. What is rationality
- Ideas are for asking questions such as: Should I do it or it must be done at another time?
- Meetings must be viewed as a different entity of your effectiveness system.
- Always ask for a place, members, time and agenda. If some point is missing then the meeting won’t be effective.
- When working with a task don’t be lazy, stop and think about the way you formulated the task look at formulating task section in my lecture notes. But the second most important thing is to find the next action that must be done, this often is overlooked and the deed is postponed for a better time, which never comes.
- Don’t rush with sharing ideas as soon as they pop up in your head, let them marinate a little bit. Sharing means that other people will also spend their limited resources thinking about them, don’t rob them by sharing with something not important.
